\nAn 18-year-old woman was taken to the hospital Friday morning after being shot while trying to break into a van in Lawrence, police said.<\/p>\n

At around 4 a.m., Lawrence Police Department officers responded to a shooting at a home in the 4800 block of Kenyon Drive near 46th Street and Shadeland Avenue.<\/p>\n

A man at the residence told police he was sleeping in his van in the driveway after an argument and woke up to someone trying to get into the vehicle, according to Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff.<\/p>\n

Customer grazed by bullet during shootout between robber and 7-Eleven cashier<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA robbery suspect is on the run after trying to hold up a convenience store cashier. But he was in for a surprise when the cashier pulled out his own gun!<\/p>\n

Police tell us a customer was grazed in the gunfire during this failed robbery attempt.<\/p>\n

This all happened just after midnight Friday on San Pedro near West Laurel just north of Downtown. Police were called to the 7-Eleven for a robbery.<\/p>\n

Police tell us a man walked into the store, pulled out a gun on the cashier, and demanded money. That\u2019s when the cashier pulled out his own gun and the two exchanged gunfire inside the store. A customer was grazed by a bullet but refused treatment..<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
