Suburban New York police officer accused of making hoax threats against herself<\/h3>\n

A suburban New York police officer sent herself a series of vile, menacing text messages and claimed she’d been the target of harassment by colleagues, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n

Ossining Police Officer Emily Hirshowitz, 36, made reports to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office dating to May last year, detailing anonymous, threatening messages she said she’d been receiving, according to a criminal complaint filed in White Plains City Court last week.<\/p>\n

Hirshowitz had said “a fellow police officer or multiple police officers at my department are involved,” Westchester County DA’s criminal investigator Michael Garcia wrote in a complaint.<\/p>\n

The expletive-laced texts urged her to take her own life and called her “stupid,” \u201cuseless\u201d and a \u201creject.\u201d<\/p>\n

But investigators discovered the texts were sent from phone numbers linked to Hirshowitz using apps that had her email and IP addresses associated with them, the complaint said.<\/p>\n

She has been charged with three counts of offering a false instrument for filing and four counts of falsely reporting an incident.<\/p>\n

Hirshowitz’s attorney could not immediately be reached for comment Monday. Of three publicly listed phone numbers linked to Hirshowitz, two were disconnected and one caller said it was a wrong number.<\/p>\n

Hirshowitz is on administrative leave, said a police representative, who declined to comment further.<\/p>\n

She was arrested Wednesday, and her next court appearance is set for July 12.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man found dead in a Minnesota freezer was hiding from police: investigators<\/h3>\n

A man found dead in a freezer in Minnesota last month was hiding from police, investigators said in a preliminary report.<\/p>\n

The body of 34-year-old Brandon Lee Buschman of Babbitt, Minnesota, was found in a chest freezer in the basement of an unoccupied home in the town of Biwabik on June 26.<\/p>\n

Investigators believe Buschman was in the house hiding because there was an active warrant for his arrest, police said in a news release Friday.<\/p>\n

They believe that he got into the freezer to hide on his own accord, perhaps because officers were in the area.<\/p>\n

The freezer was an older model that could not be opened from the inside, according to police. The house had no electricity and the freezer was not running when Buschman\u2019s body was found.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A Georgia mayor was arrested for breaking into a lake house he coveted and confronting the frightened homeowner while snarling, \u201cDo you know who the f\u2013k I am?,\u201d police and the victim say.<\/p>\n

South Fulton Mayor Khalid Kamau was busted Saturday after the homeowner called cops around 6:52 a.m. about a trespasser at his home on Cascade Palmetto Highway.<\/p>\n

The victim said that while he was on the phone with police, Kamau yelled at him several times, snarling, \u201cDo you know who the f\u2013k I am? I\u2019m the mayor, and I\u2019ll wait for my police to get here and see what happens then,\u201d WSB-TV said.<\/p>\n

Kamau has declined to comment on the incident, instead choosing to praise the South Fulton Police Department for its quick intervention.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do want to thank the South Fulton police and the staff of officers for their courteous and professional service throughout the day,\u201d he told reporters as he later left jail.<\/p>\n

The mayor told officers that he was on his way to a dog park when he stopped by the house, claiming it was his dream home and that he had hopes of purchasing it one day, according to the police report.<\/p>\n

Kamau admitted to police that he was aware he was trespassing on the homeowner\u2019s property, despite telling FOX 5 Atlanta he believed the home was \u201cabandoned.\u201d<\/p>\n

The homeowner, who has not been publicly identified, said that when he saw the mayor walk up his driveway and approach his lake house, he rushed to get dressed and called police from inside his truck.<\/p>\n

The owner of the home then approached Kamau and held him at gunpoint until police arrived, warning the mayor to stay put, the report states.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, motherf\u2013ker, you stay right there,\u201d the homeowner said, according to Kamau.<\/p>\n

The mayor claimed that he apologized to the homeowner and explained who he was. When the homeowner warned him to wait for police, Kamau allegedly responded: \u201cAre you going to shoot me while I\u2019m walking away?\u201d<\/p>\n

The mayor was charged with criminal trespass and first-degree burglary and was booked in the Fulton County Jail on $11,000 bond before being released.<\/p>\n

City officials said the investigation is ongoing and did not provide further details on the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe city of South Fulton is committed to upholding the law and ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their position, are subject to the same fair and just treatment,\u201d officials said in a statement.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Police commissioner caught in car with prostitute has bizarre explanation: ‘Done talking about it’<\/h3>\n

A member of the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners who was caught in a car with a prostitute by law enforcement is claiming that the incident is a “big misunderstanding.”<\/p>\n

Wayne County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies say they found Bryan Ferguson in his car at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in Detroit engaging in a sex act with a prostitute, the Detroit Free Press reported. Undercover narcotics officers were in the area at that time and saw Ferguson with a woman who was known to them.<\/p>\n

Ferguson has denied the allegations as a “big misunderstanding.”<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m done talking about it, that\u2019s just not what happened,” he told the Detroit Free Press.<\/p>\n

Ferguson claims that a woman whom he did not know tried to get into his truck on Wednesday morning when law enforcement “just pulled up right on me.”<\/p>\n

“This is rough. This is rough to tell. Because now I\u2019m going to have to have this conversation with my family,” Ferguson said, adding that he had told the deputies that he is police commissioner and wasn\u2019t “hiding anything.”<\/p>\n

Wayne County Sheriff\u2019s Office Capt. Jason Bates said that Ferguson had asked law enforcement on the scene whether they could “help him out.”<\/p>\n

“At that time, Mr. Bryan Ferguson stepped out, identified himself as a Detroit police commissioner,” Bates told Fox 2 Detroit. “A title or position doesn’t make them above the law.”<\/p>\n

Ferguson was issued a misdemeanor citation for indecent or obscene conduct involving a sex act with a prostitute, Bates told the Detroit Free Press.<\/p>\n

Ferguson is expected to resign from his position on the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners, Fox 2 Detroit reported.<\/p>\n

Ferguson, who previously served as chair of the police watchdog group, released a statement Wednesday saying that he would take a step back from participating in board meetings.<\/p>\n

“Today, multiple media outlets released information alleging \u2018indecent conduct\u2019 this morning. The allegation is untrue and the situation is a big misunderstanding,” Ferguson said in his statement.<\/p>\n

“I do not want this personal matter to become a distraction from the important oversight work this board has to do. For that reason, I am making the decision to step back from the board meetings for a time.”<\/p>\n

The Detroit Board of Police Commissioners did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
