Police: Man shot, killed after trying to break into his ex’s Gonzales home<\/strong><\/p>\n

GONZALES – A man was shot multiple times while trying to force his way into his ex’s apartment over the weekend, according to police.<\/p>\n

The Gonzales Police Department said Tuesday that 35-year-old Joshua Jones of Donaldsonville was initially hospitalized but later died from his gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n

Jones reportedly tried to break into the apartment on South Lanoux Avenue late Saturday night, while the victim’s new boyfriend was also inside. Police said Jones was shot as he tried to shatter the bedroom window.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nIt was not immediately clear whether the deputy being dragged was also the deputy who shot a man.<\/em><\/p>\n

GENOA, Wis \u2014 A sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a man in southwestern Wisconsin after he drove away from a traffic stop with a deputy hanging from the man’s vehicle, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Friday evening’s fatal shooting occurred after deputies from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office were sent to a residence in Genoa for a welfare check, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation said in a statement.<\/p>\n

When deputies arrived, a man was leaving the home. Deputies made a traffic stop but the man began to speed away with a deputy hanging on to the side of the vehicle, authorities said.<\/p>\n

A deputy then fired and hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, the department said.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
