You may have noticed the meme yesterday in which Kamala Harris, the lowest-polling VP of modern times, is referenced as the government\u00a0 “AI Czar” .<\/p>\n

Well, it isn’t just a meme. Having successfully solved the border crisis, not only is she in charge of determining policy on Artificial Intelligence, she has already had meetings, to wit:<\/p>\n

For roughly two hours in the White House\u2019s Roosevelt Room, Vice President Kamala Harris and other officials told the leaders of Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, the maker of the popular ChatGPT chatbot, and Anthropic, an A.I. start-up, to seriously consider concerns about the technology. President Biden also briefly stopped by the meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you\u2019re doing has enormous potential and enormous danger,\u201d Mr. Biden told the executives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe private sector has an ethical, moral and legal responsibility to ensure the safety and security of their products,\u201d Ms. Harris said in a statement. \u201cAnd every company must comply with existing laws to protect the American people.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
