(AP) \u2014 A Walgreens employee who shot and wounded a pregnant woman he suspected of shoplifting said he acted in self-defense after being pepper-sprayed, Nashville police said Thursday.<\/p>\n A Walgreens team leader followed two women to a vehicle in the parking lot Wednesday evening after watching them leave the store without paying for items, police said in a statement. He said he was recording the women on his cellphone and that he made his way to the rear side of a vehicle where they were placing the items in the trunk. One of the women then sprayed him with pepper spray, he told police.<\/p>\n The man said he then fired a semi-automatic pistol because he was \u201cin fear and didn\u2019t know if they were armed,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n The women fled in the car, and the employee went back into the store and called 911.<\/p>\n The pregnant woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was dropped off at a hospital, where an emergency cesarean section was performed. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide near Buffalo Drive and Alta Drive in the west Las Vegas Valley Wednesday night.<\/p>\n According to Lt. Jason Johansson with LVMPD, around 6:45 p.m. police received reports of a shooting when a woman called saying her boyfriend shot another man at their house.<\/p>\n Officers arrived and found the woman along with two kids standing near the driveway.<\/p>\n Johannson said prior to the shooting, the woman was involved in an altercation in front of the house.<\/p>\n During the argument, the man grabbed a bat from a vehicle and started smashing several other vehicles parked in the driveway.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
