{"id":13901,"date":"2009-08-24T12:41:37","date_gmt":"2009-08-24T17:41:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=13901"},"modified":"2009-08-24T12:41:37","modified_gmt":"2009-08-24T17:41:37","slug":"shuffling-the-interrogation-deck-chairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=13901","title":{"rendered":"Shuffling the interrogation deck chairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s a new old policy in town for interrogation &#8211; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/article.php?id=D9A9BLTG0&#038;show_article=1\">Associated Press<\/a> calls it &#8220;a new, special terrorism-era interrogation unit to be supervised by the White House&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2009\/08\/24\/AR2009082401133.html?hpid=topnews\">Washington Post<\/a> says the new unit will be named &#8220;High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group&#8221; or &#8220;HIG&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It sounds like something out of a Brad Thor novel. I&#8217;ve nicknamed it the &#8220;PPACP&#8221; unit &#8211; it stands for &#8220;Pretty Please, Aw C&#8217;mon, Please&#8221; because now that the White House has no one to blame except themselves, that&#8217;s the only acceptable interrogation technique from here on out.<\/p>\n<p>AP says interrogators will be limited to interrogation techniques in the Army Field Manual. Here are the actual prohibited techniques from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.army.mil\/institution\/armypublicaffairs\/pdf\/fm2-22-3.pdf\">FM 32-54<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/interogation-techniques.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/interogation-techniques.jpg\" alt=\"interogation-techniques\" title=\"interogation-techniques\" width=\"485\" height=\"235\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13902\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/interogation-techniques.jpg 485w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/interogation-techniques-300x145.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 485px) 100vw, 485px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In other words, the Obama Administration is taking over the responsibility of interrogations just to prevent waterboarding &#8211; all of that other stuff has always been frowned upon and discouraged. the only thing on that list that was used legally by the Bush Administration was waterboarding.
