Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, according to a news release obtained by McClatchy News. They found a man in critical condition with at least one gunshot wound. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services rushed the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDetectives learned an individual reported to dispatch a male kicked in the door, and the person who kicked in the door was shot,\u201d police said in a statement to WISH. The Marion County Coroner\u2019s Office said the man who was killed was 31 years old, according to WTHR. Thanks, Gun Bunny.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homeowner shoots suspect in Ogle County home invasion<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>by: John Clark<br \/>\nA suspect in a home invasion was shot by a resident in Chana early Sunday morning, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>The Ogle County Sheriff\u2019s Office said deputies were called to a home in the 9000 block of E. Fowler Road around 1:11 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>When police arrived, they found the offender had been shot in the lower abdomen by someone living at the residence, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The man was taken to the Rochelle airport and flown to Saint Anthony\u2019s in Rockford via Life Flight helicopter.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the suspect is in critical but stable condition.
