\nA 26-year old man was shot and killed by an armed customer after walking into a Phoenix, Arizona restaurant on Saturday evening and firing several rounds, according to police, though for some reason most of the local media is downplaying or ignoring the defensive gun use, at least in the headlines of their reports on the incident.<\/p>\n

KTAR\u2019s headline reads \u201cMan who brought gun to Phoenix restaurant dead after shooting\u201d, leaving out the detail that the first shots fired apparently came from the man who was shot and killed. AZFamily.com, meanwhile, provides even fewer details in their headline, simply announcing that \u201cMan dead after shooting in Phoenix restaurant.\u201d At least the Arizona Republic managed to include the fact that the armed patron says he was acting in self-defense in its headline, and the paper\u2019s report includes a few details about the encounter.<\/p>\n

Phoenix officers arrived on the scene around 10 p.m. and found a man, identified as 26-year-old Oscar Luna, with a gunshot wound.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cPhoenix fire took the man to a local hospital where he did not survive his injuries,\u201d Sgt. Brian Bower said. \u201cWe had several witnesses and we detained a man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Detectives who took over the investigation reported that the man who was killed had entered the restaurant with a gun and fired a number of rounds inside the building.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe man detained and questioned by police was inside the restaurant during this incident and had shot the individual ending this confrontation,\u201d Bower said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nSugar Land Police Department investigators are searching for a man who tried to steal money from a store last weekend.<\/p>\n

The incident was caught on camera.<\/p>\n

Videos from the WB Food Mart on West Bellfort Boulevard show the masked suspect walking into the store around noon.<\/p>\n

He pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the ceiling, before quickly approaching the checkout window, pointing the gun at the clerk and demanding cash, police said.<\/p>\n

When the clerk grabbed a gun of his own, the suspect fired several more shots at him, police said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
