Some days it’s a struggle to find something to write about, some days there are so many you just have to go with summaries.<\/p>\n
First up on our list is Lori Lightfoot, Chicago’s own Beetlejuice, who says:<\/p>\n
\n“Everyone in our city deserves to be safe because they are safe,” she said Thursday. What have we done? We’ve worked on making sure that we take more handguns and illegal guns off the street. We’ve worked on making sure that we provide more police, particularly in areas of the city that are suffering most,” she added.<\/p>\n
Retired Chicago police Lieutenant John Garrido fired back at Lightfoot’s claims on “Fox & Friends First<\/a>” Wednesday, saying, “She’s right that we all deserve to be safe, but the problem is that we’re not safe because of her failed administration.”<\/p>\n
\n<\/picture><\/div>\n<\/div>\n “The amount of officers that are working in the patrol division is almost half of what are actually detailed out into units now, and it just shows that she, along with her superintendent, have no idea what they’re doing.”<\/p>\n
Chicago’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) indicated the 7,660 sworn officers assigned to The Windy City’s 22 police districts before Lightfoot took office nearly four years ago declined to around 6,202 as of February 2023. \u00a0Fox<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Bear in mind that according to most sources that 7K to 6K decline was primarily among beat cops. Oh, and the article mentions that the Mayor has over 110 cops on her own protection detail. What’s that, 1.5% of the force?<\/p>\n

And apparently we can’t dump on John Kerry for flying all over the place in a private jet to wage war on carbon: his family sold the Gulfstream IV from its private (partially Teresa Heniz-Kerry owned) charter company Flying Squirrel LLC<\/p>\n
The plane’s registered owner is now listed as AV Aviation LLC., a small firm based at the Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Connecticut. Documents filed with the Connecticut state government shows that AC Aviation is a subsidiary of the New York City hedge fund AC Investment Management which specializes in renewable energy and clean technology<\/a> investments and manages funds worth hundreds of millions of dollars.\u00a0 Fox II<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
So even if, as Kerry says, he no longer uses the plane his wife owned (he claims he “flies commercial”, but note that also covers charter flights.) it went to a “green” company for their use. The irony here is not limited to “Flying Squirrel.” But it’s on a par with folks like Bill Gates, who think their immense carbon footprint is OK because he’s “through the billions that my Breakthrough Energy Group is spending – that I’m part of the solution\u2026” Euronews<\/a><\/p>\n

And in a classic case of\u00a0 “is NOTHING sacred?” thieves hit a beloved icon in Las Vegas and stole the catalytic convertor off a Wienermobile. Yep, one of Oscar Meyer’s 27 foot dogs on wheels got hit Thursday night.<\/p>\n
The 27-foot long Mayer mobile was ultimately towed to the Penske Truck Rental at West Hacienda Avenue and South Decatur Boulevard, where mechanics installed a “temporary” catalytic converter.<\/p>\n
Working on a tight schedule, the Wienermobile didn’t have time to relish in the theft, so mechanics quickly sealed up the area where the catalytic converter had been cut out.<\/p>\n
The crew made it to its first appearance of the weekend without missing a beat.\u00a0 Fox III<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
I’m sure the ‘relish in the theft’ is no accident, the drivers are trained to make deli-meat jokes as part of their personae…and that’s no baloney.<\/p>\n
