China claims that the US has sent balloons over China ten times recently… of course with no substantiation, dates, or locations. So of course their balloons over the US are no big deal, and now they can shoot down what they claim are OUR balloons. (How would they tell? Anything we would have is probably made in China anyway.)<\/p>\n
Maritime authorities in China\u2019s eastern Shandong Province said they had spotted an “unidentified flying object” in waters near the coastal city of Rizhao, the state-run Global Times reported Sunday. Other outlets reported that the object was spotted near Qingdao, which is home to the Jianggezhuang Naval Base, a naval base for the People\u2019s Liberation Army.\u00a0 Fox<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The two ports are close together, by the way. No real contradiction.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the US’\u00a0 balloon count is up to 4 with yet one more over Lake Huron. Pity different pilots were involved, we could be looking at a new ace. Not sure anyone wants “balloon ace” on their resume, though. Yahoo<\/a><\/p>\n
Moving on to the UFO front,\u00a0 China inititally described their balloon as a possible UFO.\u00a0 Meanwhile, in the US:<\/p>\n
Asked whether he had ruled out an extraterrestrial origin for three airborne objects shot down by U.S. warplanes in as many days, General Glen VanHerck said: “I’ll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out. I haven’t ruled out anything.”<\/p>\n
“At this point we continue to assess every threat or potential threat, unknown, that approaches North America with an attempt to identify it,” said VanHerck, head of U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command and Northern Command.\u00a0 Reuters<\/a><\/p>\n
