CMPD officer shoots armed suspect during incident in University City area<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the University City area.<\/p>\n

Around 1 p.m. officers said they responded to a residence on Billings Park Drive to serve an involuntary commitment order.<\/p>\n

Police said while officers were preparing to serve the order, multiple 911 calls came through that were communicating threats and a possible domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon at the same residence.<\/p>\n

Officers at the scene then observed an armed suspect at the house actively shooting. One officer responded to the threat by firing his gun at the suspect who was also shooting, according to police.<\/p>\n

Police said officers then immediately rendered medical aid to those who had been injured. A firearm was located on the scene, according to police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Concealed carry holder shoots man trying to rob him on Chicago CTA train<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA concealed carry holder pulled out his gun and shot another man who tried to rob him at gunpoint on a CTA Green Line train on Friday, police said.<\/p>\n

Around 4:43 p.m., Chicago police say the 25-year-old male victim was on the train in the 4700 block of West Lake Street when he was approached by a 33-year-old male offender who pulled out a gun and announced a robbery.<\/p>\n

The victim then produced a firearm of his own and there was an exchange of gunfire, police said.<\/p>\n

The victim was not struck, but the offender was in the leg. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in fair condition.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred during the evening rush hour.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
