Roberts was assaulted by his neighbor in front of his home and shot Andrew Karacsonyi, 65, killing him.

The two were embroiled in an ongoing dispute, which turned violent. The State Attorney’s office recently announced that they would be declining to file charges, as Roberts’ actions met the “reasonable person” standard and thus was excusable under Florida law.

According to the Treasure Coast Palm, Roberts and Karasconyi had been in an ongoing dispute for some months, including multiple police reports filed by both parties and allegations of vandalism, slashing car tires, racism, and leaving threatening notes to each other.

On January 29, 2022, Roberts was going about his morning routine when he heard his dog barking and opened his door to investigate. His dog was barking at Karasconyi, who was near Roberts’ mailbox.

1 / 0 / 0
USA Carry

And then it got stupid.

Police: At least 9 people shot in Philly since beginning of 2023

BY ANDREAS COPES
The new year in Philadelphia began with multiple gunshot victims. Officials tell CBS3 there have been at least eight shootings in Philadelphia since midnight on New Year’s Day.

The year started with an 87-year-old woman who suffered a gunshot wound to the left shoulder in Port Richmond, police say. This incident happened at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday on the 3400 block of Salmon Street. She was transported to Jefferson Frankford Hospital where she was placed in stable condition. No arrests have been made in this incident.

In East Frankford, a 30-year-old man was shot in the left leg and side around 1 a.m. Sunday, police say. It happened on Tackawanna Street near Torresdale Avenue.

Authorities say the man was taken to Temple Hospital and underwent surgery and was placed in stable condition. Officials later said that the woman shot the man in self-defense as she was being assaulted by him. They also add that the woman had a license to carry.

The man is considered a suspect, police say. Police recovered the gun used in that shooting.

No Score
CBS News

Off to a running start in the City of Brotherly Love. The deputy and the concerned family member spoke and decided to get an involuntary commitment order for the man.

After that, more deputies arrived to take the man into custody for the involuntary commitment.

Deputies said the man they were trying to take into custody pointed a gun at them, so they pulled their guns and opened fire, killing him.

“First, we want to say that our thoughts and prayers are with the decedent’s family and friends,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

1 / 0 / 0
ABC 11

No, first we’re glad the LEOs went home after their shift.
