Several people are questioning a story that President Joe Biden put out.\u00a0 There was a statement Biden made claiming that his Uncle Frank was awarded a Purple Heart.\u00a0 I would say “allegedly,” but Biden’s words were provided on the official White House (dot gov) website.\u00a0 Therefore, there is no question about him saying it.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You know, I \u2014 my dad, when I got elected Vice President, he said, \u201cJoey, Uncle Frank fought in the Battle of the Bulge.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 He was not feeling very well now \u2014 not because of the Battle of the Bulge.\u00a0 But he said, \u201cAnd he won the Purple Heart.\u00a0 And he never received it.\u00a0 He never \u2014 he never got it.\u00a0 Do you think you could help him get it?\u00a0 We\u2019ll surprise him.\u201d<\/p>\n

So we got him the Purple Heart.\u00a0 He had won it in the Battle of the Bulge.\u00a0 And I remember he came over to the house, and I came out, and he said, \u201cPresent it to him, okay?\u201d\u00a0 We had the family there.<\/p>\n

I said, \u201cUncle Frank, you won this.\u00a0 And I want to\u2026\u201d\u00a0 He said, \u201cI don\u2019t want the damn thing.\u201d\u00a0 (Laughter.)\u00a0 No, I\u2019m serious.\u00a0 He said, \u201cI don\u2019t want it.\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cWhat\u2019s the matter, Uncle Frank?\u00a0 You earned it.\u201d\u00a0 He said, \u201cYeah, but the others died. \u00a0The others died.\u00a0 I lived.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want it.\u201d<\/p>\n

President Joe Biden appeared to make a major gaffe Friday when he claimed that after being elected vice president in 2008, he awarded his uncle, Frank Biden, a Purple Heart for his service in World War II, but there are some major holes in his story–primarily the fact his uncle died almost a decade before the 2008 election.<\/p>\n
