Bodycam video, released by the Colorado Springs Police Department, show what appears to be police officers punching Dalvin Gadson. According to the article, Gadson served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Gadson was apparently driving around 15 mph in a 45 mile-per-hour zone.<\/p>\n

The police pulled Gadson over as he had no visible license plates. One of the officers reported that there was a knife in the vehicle’s cupholder. Gadson turned over his license when requested, but later refused to cooperate when the police wanted to subject him to a sobriety test.<\/p>\n

Video shows the officer requesting Gadson\u2019s license, which he turns over, and returning to his cruiser.<\/p>\n

When additional officers arrived, police said the officer returned to Gadson\u2019s vehicle and asked him to step out of the vehicle, so they could conduct a driving under the influence investigation.<\/p>\n

The officers can be heard telling Gadson not to reach for anything while exiting the car. Gadson opens the door and swings out his feet but tells them he will remain seated.<\/p>\n

“He was completely confused by, you\u2019re stopping me for a tag, now you\u2019re asking me for a DUI check,” Gadson\u2019s attorney Harry Daniels told the station.<\/p>\n

When an officer tells the still-seated Gadson “you\u2019re going to be detained in handcuffs,” Gadson replies, “No I\u2019m not.”<\/p>\n

One officer reaches for Gadson, who retreats into the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The video shows officers swarming Gadson and punching him repeatedly. Gadson falls out of the car and onto the pavement. Officers continue to demand Gadson put his arms behind his back while they continue to punch him.<\/p>\n

Gadson can be heard pleading with officers, “I wasn\u2019t trying to fight y\u2019all,” and, “What did I do?”<\/p>\n

The punching goes on for about one minute, with video also showing Gadson being kicked in the head by an officer on scene, FOX31 reported.<\/p>\n

Daniels said Gadson suffered an eye injury, ruptured ear drum and PTSD from the encounter. Images at the scene showed Gadson bleeding from his face onto the pavement.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
