Lawmakers now want to put a stop to that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">In explanatory language for the authorization bill, they called the current policy governing academy athletes \u201ccontorted\u201d and said that granting exceptions to the rules goes against the principles of what the schools are designed to do.<\/p>\n<p>Congress is expected to finalize the authorization bill, which includes $817 billion in defense spending policy issues for fiscal 2023, in the next few days.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/pentagon-congress\/2022\/12\/08\/bill-would-block-academy-grads-from-playing-pro-sports-right-away\/\">Military Times<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Congress is also rescinding the military&#8217;s Covid-19 mandate in the same bill. &#8216;Bout damn time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/pentagon-congress\/2022\/12\/07\/military-covid-19-vaccine-mandate-repealed-in-defense-bill-compromise\/\">Military Times <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Guess it is true, even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then. Someone in Congress is doing something right, in my book. I would think anyone who sucks up all those taxpayer training dollars and wants to bolt to be a pro athlete should end up assigned someplace &#8220;interesting.&#8221;\u00a0 Where did I hear something about flying rubber something outta Hong Kong?
