Off-duty FBI agent fatally shoots man during fight at crowded D.C. transit station, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAn off-duty FBI agent fatally shot a man after a dispute inside a bustling Washington, D.C., transit station Wednesday evening, police said.<\/p>\n

The agent was at the Metro Center rail station when he got into an altercation with the suspect, identified as Troy Bullock, 28, of Southeast Washington, just after 6:20 p.m., police said.<\/p>\n

Ashan Benedict, the executive assistant chief of police for the Metropolitan Police Department, said at a news conference that Bullock \u201cpushed\u201d the agent backward and they both fell down an 8-foot drop over a side wall, located away from the train tracks at the end of the platform, where they continued to struggle.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth of the individuals go off the side of the wall, and that struggle continues. Shots end up being fired during that struggle,\u201d Benedict said.<\/p>\n

The off-duty veteran FBI special agent was the one who opened fire, and Bullock was pronounced dead, Benedict said.<\/p>\n

The FBI agent was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not clear what precipitated the argument.<\/p>\n

Asked whether if the agent started the altercation, Benedict said, \u201cDoesn\u2019t appear so; he appears to be the victim.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police initially said Wednesday night that they didn’t recover another firearm, but in a statement Thursday, they said a handgun was recovered from the suspect.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man and woman in critical condition after shootout with Pasco police<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA man and woman are in critical condition Thursday after a Pasco police officer exchanged gunfire with the man at a mobile home Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Police were called just before 11:45 p.m. to investigate a suspected domestic violence confrontation at the Lakeview Manufactured Home Community at 1505 S. Road 40.<\/p>\n

When they arrived, officers could hear a fight inside the single-wide mobile home.<\/p>\n

They were able to talk with someone inside, but when they opened the door they saw a man holding a gun, struggling with a woman, according to a news release by the Regional Special Investigations Unit.<\/p>\n

The unit of specially-trained detectives investigates officer-involved shootings in Benton, Franklin and Walla Walla counties.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter initial contact, the male pointed and fired his firearm at the officer,\u201d according to the release. \u201cOne Pasco police officer responded with deadly force in firing their firearm.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
