Well, one is mundane: Chuck Schumer\u00a0 (D – NY The only mild surprise of the day was that the President Pro Tempore, aka the President Pro Tem, did NOT go to the customary ranking majority Senator. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is 89 and, to be kind, rumored to be in less than perfect command of her faculties. Sen. Patty Murray (D-CA) has been in the Senate since ’92 like Feinstein but is younger by 17 years, and supposedly does not ask the same questions repeatedly, forget who she is talking to, and fall asleep in mid-conversation like some other California senators.
