It came one day after the House <a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/business-economy-strikes-congress-government-and-politics-055609b54cfd5d21de0f42fccddff22b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-ylk=\"slk:voted\" data-rapid_p=\"24\" data-v9y=\"1\">voted<\/a> to impose the agreement. The measure now goes to President Joe Biden&#8217;s desk for his signature.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI negotiated a contract no one else could negotiate,\u201d Biden said at a news briefing with French President Emmanuel Macron. \u201cWhat was negotiated was so much better than anything they ever had.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/biden-administration-presses-senators-avert-174329083.html\">Yahoo News<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Biden signed the bill Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Damned if Biden doesn&#8217;t sound positively Trumpian.\u00a0 The workers get their sick time improved from 0 days to 1 day&#8230; yeah, helluva improvement. Wonder what &#8220;blue flu&#8221; sounds like in Railroadese?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-89133 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/soccer-277x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The US Women&#8217;s National Team will collect $6,500,000 for not playing in the World Cup. Under the new collective bargaining agreement this year, the WNT gets 50% of the MNT prize money. The MNT also gets a share of whatever the WNT wins, so it&#8217;s fair.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"dcr-heo3js\">For context, the $6.5m coming to the women\u2019s team is more than they won in total for their last two World Cup victories. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2019_FIFA_Women%27s_World_Cup#Prize_money\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">The USWNT earned $4m<\/a> for winning the 2019 World Cup and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2015_FIFA_Women%27s_World_Cup#Prize_money\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">$2m for their title in 2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-heo3js\">The prize money for the 2023 Women\u2019s World Cup has not yet been set, although Fifa president Gianni Infantino has said he wants to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2022-07-20\/fifa-could-double-2023-women-s-world-cup-prize-money-100-million\/101254868\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">\u201cat least double\u201d the pot from 2019<\/a>. Now for the fun part &#8211; if they continue to refuse, those votes will disallowed: they are primarily REPUBLICAN and if thrown out will throw the Congressional seat to the Democrat in the race. So the Democratic Secretary of State is suing the Republican board to certify its votes for a Republican, and they don&#8217;t want to. My head hurts. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alisondurkee\/2022\/12\/01\/arizona-county-still-hasnt-certified-its-midterm-election-results-heres-why-it-could-cost-republicans-a-house-seat\/?sh=4123d5491697\">Forbes<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is what happens when you write a column and schedule it for later release&#8230;.a judge ordered the results certified and the board has done so. I would suspect the Republican Party might have a few words for the numbnuts who held up the process and emperiled the elected seats.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This week, former Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard, a Democrat, joined Richard Romley, a Republican former Maricopa County attorney, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23322268-nov-29-2022-letter-to-arizona-attorney-general-and-cochise-county-attorney-from-terry-goddard-and-richard-romley\">asking for probes<\/a> by Arizona&#8217;s attorney general and the Cochise County attorney.
