\nSan Francisco Mayor London Breed announced the launch of a new guaranteed income program for the city’s transgender community on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Guaranteed Income for Trans People (GIFT) Program will provide low-income transgender residents with $1,200 each month, up to 18 months to help address financial insecurity within the community.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the city said it will provide the same individuals with “wrap-around” direct services, such as gender-affirming medical and mental health care, case management, specialty care services and financial coaching.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
According to the program’s website, applicants must meet the following qualifications:<\/p>\n
\n
- Be at least 18 years old<\/li>\n
- Identify as transgender, nonbinary, gender nonconforming, or intersex<\/li>\n
- Not be receiving more than $600\/monthly in income<\/li>\n
- Reside in the City and County of San Francisco<\/li>\n
- Be willing and able to complete a survey every 3 months, and submit a complete application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Those applying for the program can choose from 97 different genders<\/a> and 18 preferred pronouns on the application paperwork, which must be submitted by Dec. 15.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
And, of course, per the Washington Free Beacon, it’s all “taxpayer money” funding it.<\/p>\n
