The Biden Administration’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) Covid pandemic response is a master class in government failure. Systemic shortfalls began with inadequate, ineffective and irrational responses to the pandemic. They also started the increasingly shrill 24-hour media cycle of declarations of States of Emergency, government-mandated shutdowns cancellations and\/or closings of selected events institutions and organizations, with quarantine and social distancing for the masses.<\/p>\n
At the onset, Governors Cuomo and Murphy issued nearly identical orders requiring NY\/NJ nursing homes to accept Covid patients after being discharged from hospitals. However, the orders barred the homes from inquiring if the patients had the virus for fear of discrimination.<\/p>\n
Those orders became death sentences as infections began to spread like wildfire among the vulnerable patients. So much so political leaders whisked their parents away from those facilities.<\/p>\n
The health official responsible for overseeing nursing homes in Pennsylvania \u2014 where nearly 70 percent of the state\u2019s coronavirus-related deaths have occurred \u2014 has reportedly moved her elderly mother out of a facility as deaths skyrocketed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n Recall this?<\/p>\n The peer-reviewed study from the University of Toronto counters the popular narrative that vaccination is purely a matter of choice, Forbes reports.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n KHN<\/a><\/p>\n Get the jab, granny-killer! We all wore cloth masks that I had made myself. We had a family hand signal, which the person in the front would use if someone was approaching on the trail and we needed to put on our masks. Once, when another child got too close to my then-4-year-old son on a bridge, he yelled at her \u201cSOCIAL DISTANCING!\u201d<\/p>\n These precautions were totally misguided. In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldn\u2019t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didn\u2019t know.<\/p>\n I have been reflecting on this lack of knowledge thanks to a class I\u2019m co-teaching at Brown University on COVID.
