Officers came across the car again as it pulled into a garage, he added.<\/p>\n Officers then saw the driver exit the car with a gun in his hand, Pontecore said. Santos is then said to have assaulted the homeowner with a stick, and made it several feet inside the house with \u201ca large landscaping rock\u201d before the homeowner retrieved a gun and opened fire.<\/p>\n Officers responding to the scene found Santos suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nAuthorities in Fairfax County, Virginia, have identified a man fatally shot in what detectives continue to believe was an act of self-defense by a homeowner.<\/p>\n
