Claremore officers kill man brandishing nail gun<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keri Gordon, Tahlequah Daily Press, Okla.
\nThe Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Claremore.<\/p>\n

According to the OSBI, deputies with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to reports of a disturbance at a local business on Wednesday. Deputies were advised that a man had been causing the disturbance with a nail gun.<\/p>\n

William Fairweather, 39, locked himself in the office of the business and refused to leave. Deputies and a marshal with the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service tried speaking with the man, but he was uncooperative.<\/p>\n

Fairweather reportedly threatened law enforcement with the nail gun when he was shot and killed. The body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the manner of death.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The “shot and killed” part may provide valuable clues to the ME. While “gun” is indeed in the name, a nail gun is a carpentry tool and not what one should bring to an actual gun fight. Right, Mr. Fairweather?<\/p>\n

Police shoot and kill man in Kansas City, Kansas<\/strong><\/p>\n

A man is dead after an encounter with Kansas City, KS police.
\nOfficers say they were in the area of Wood Ave. and N. 27th St. at around midnight Wednesday morning to investigate a stolen car. While there, they noticed what they say was a “suspicious” car parked nearby.<\/p>\n

The officers discovered an armed man inside who had drug paraphernalia with him. Police say they approached the man to speak with him and he started shooting at them. Officers say they fired back.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
