Homeowner shoots intruder in buttocks in Franklin, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA homeowner shot an intruder in the buttocks early Wednesday who police say attempted to burglarize a Park Avenue house.<\/p>\n

Franklin police requested a K-9 to track the suspect and after a short track, he was found hiding in a shed not far from the victim’s residence. He was taken into custody following the shooting reported around 3:25 a.m., according to police.<\/p>\n

Police identified the suspect as Jeffery L. Carl, 36, of Franklin He was taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown for an injury to the buttocks that was not life-threatening. He was released several hours later and taken back to the Franklin Police Division.<\/p>\n

Lt. Brian Pacifico said Carl was interviewed Monday morning by Franklin police and has been booked into the Warren County Jail under a $50,250 bond.<\/p>\n

Pacifico said Carl will be arraigned on a charge of burglary in court on Friday. He also has a failure to appear warrant out of Franklin Municipal Court.<\/p>\n

Franklin police were assisted by Monroe police and the Warren County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Deadly shooting \u2018justified\u2019 after man pulls out gun during drug deal, DeKalb police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

DeKalb County police say a double shooting at an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon was \u201cjustified.\u201d<\/p>\n

One man was left dead and a second was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A third man will not face charges, police confirmed Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

NewsChopper 2 was over the scene on Penwood Place, where there were multiple officers and law enforcement vehicles and crime scene tape was strung around a car and an apartment building.<\/p>\n

Police later confirmed when they arrived at the complex, they found Jamal Jenkins, 34, dead in the doorway of one of the apartments.<\/p>\n

A 21-year-old man inside the apartment had also been shot. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.<\/p>\n

Investigators later learned that Jenkins came to the apartment to buy drugs, but pulled out a gun during the deal.<\/p>\n

They say a third man then pulled out a gun and shot Jenkins.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
