Nikolas, not Ted….geez, guys, get it straight!\u00a0 Nikolas is the asswipe that shot up the Parkland High School, killing many students and inflicting the likes of David Hogg on the rest of us. (You would think that crime against humanity alone deserves a death penalty, but he wasn’t charged with it.)<\/p>\n

Poor little Nikki had a sad childhood – apparently his mother was one of the Walking Wounded in the War on Drugs, his brain was rotted in the womb, none of the kids liked him, and meanies stole his lunch money.\u00a0 Or whatever.\u00a0 Regardless, the penalty phase of his trial ended today and the jury verdict is Life Without Parole.<\/p>\n

Jurors began deliberations on <\/b>Wednesday after hearing several weeks of testimony in the penalty phase of Cruz\u2019s trial. The 24-year-old pleaded guilty last year to 17 counts each of attempted and first-degree murder in the Parkland high school shooting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are 17 victims that did not receive justice today,\u201d Fred Guttenberg, the father of 14-year-old shooting victim Jaime Guttenberg, said at a news conference Thursday. \u201cThis jury failed our families today.\u201d<\/p>\n

While I support the families’ position 100%, I am actually OK with the verdict under one condition. I don’t condone state-sponsored killing of its citizens – except that it’s the states duty to protect its citizenry, and in some cases the proven threat cannot be positively, 100% guaranteed to not commit more crimes against the citizenry without putting them to death. It is the ONLY penalty for which the recidivism rate is exactly 0%. So\u00a0 given that, how can I support this verdict?<\/p>\n

My one caveat is that he has to stay in GenPop.<\/p>\n

I figure that way he will not cost the taxpayers more than a few month’s upkeep before someone Dahmerizes him. None of this 40 years appeals and delays nonsense – hell, it took them 6 years just to get him to trial.\u00a0 Let the boys in the yard handle it.<\/p>\n

Am I the only one who thinks he looks like Snowden’s kid brother?<\/p>\n
