{"id":13205,"date":"2009-08-04T08:52:02","date_gmt":"2009-08-04T13:52:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=13205"},"modified":"2009-08-04T08:52:02","modified_gmt":"2009-08-04T13:52:02","slug":"questions-about-a-middleclass-tax-hike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=13205","title":{"rendered":"Questions about a middleclass tax hike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A month ago, when asked about whether the Obama Administration wouold raise taxes on middle class Americans, Robert Gibbs said &#8220;We&#8217;re going to let the process work it&#8217;s way through&#8221; meaning no one was going to mention tax increases, but they weren&#8217;t off the table.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"400\" height=\"333\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/pTmkB3NUL6Y&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/pTmkB3NUL6Y&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"400\" height=\"333\"><\/embed><\/object> <\/p>\n<p>This weekend, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=13178\">White House officials made it clear<\/a> that tax hikes on the middleclass were inevitable.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, when asked about tike increases on families making over $250k, Gibbs said &#8220;The President won&#8217;t raise takes on those making more than $250,000&#8221;;<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"500\" height=\"333\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/gcW40l1UInc&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/gcW40l1UInc&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>So, of course, there probably won&#8217;t be tax hikes in the marginal tax rates, but that doesn&#8217;t mean we&#8217;re not going to pay taxes on other things &#8211; like the $.51\/pack tax hike on cigarettes earlier in the year. They could could take away the tax advantages of 401ks and IRAs (my biggest fear). Make no mistake, we&#8217;re going to start paying more in taxes by the end of this year.
