\u2018Would-be robber\u2019 left baffled when store clerk pulls his own gun, Florida cops say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAn attempted store robbery turned awkward when the \u201cwould-be robber\u201d discovered his intended victim also had a gun, according to the Escambia County Sheriff\u2019s Office in Florida.<\/p>\n

It happened Sept. 9 at a store on North Pace Boulevard in Pensacola, and surveillance video shows the suspect was thwarted at every turn, starting when he couldn\u2019t find anyone behind the counter.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnbeknownst to the \u2018would-be\u2019 robber, a store employee had watched him arm himself before entering the store. This employee headed to the backroom to arm himself (with his own personal gun),\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeconds later, when he sees the employee return, he freezes. \u2026 The employee returned to the counter holding his own gun toward the befuddled attempted robber.\u201d<\/p>\n

At that point, the suspect is heard trying to come up with a non-threatening reason he brought a shotgun into a convenience store.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A deputy shot a man who cops say was waving a pistol in a Florida Publix parking lot<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA call about a suspicious person in a Palm Beach County Publix parking lot ended with a shot 21-year-old in critical condition, the Palm Beach County Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

PBSO said this happened Monday around 6:05 p.m. at a Publix in Greenacres, 4840 S. Military Tr. Before deputies got to the store, PBSO said, the man had fired a pistol into the air several times.<\/p>\n

After 20 minutes of trying to talk the weapon out of the man\u2019s hand, PBSO said, he waved the gun \u201cin a threatening manner at deputies.\u201d One of the deputies shot him.<\/p>\n

Later, PBSO said the man\u2019s past included being taken into custody under the Baker Act more than once. His name wasn\u2019t released.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
