TSO and I met Rurik at Winter Soldier. He was dressed like one of the aged hippies to blend in with the crowd and he took a mound of notes on a legal pad while TSO and I were typing on our laptops. As a result, I’ve always said that his posts that he wrote when he got home were the definitive report on Winter Soldier. <\/p>\n
Since then, I’ve been dependent on the steady streams of emails that I get from Rurik to keep me up-to-date on stuff I probably missed. He’s sent us a steady stream of traffic from his own friends’ blogs, too.<\/p>\n
Rurik was one of us – an Army combat engineer in Vietnam. <\/p>\n
