That&#8217;s from the impact of a sub-1000 ft\/lb energy handgun bullet &#8211; the .50 BMG carries more like 6.5+ TONS of muzzle energy. Unless they have figured out a good way to avoid damage from getting hit by a F250, it&#8217;s gonna leave a mark.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Compared to Russia, the United States military&#8217;s attempts to build high-tech battle armor have lagged way behind.<\/p>\n<p>The Army has been working for years to develop robotic exoskeletons that enhance soldiers&#8217; physical capabilities, but Task &amp; Purpose reports that they&#8217;re not nearly as advanced \u2014 or thoroughly tested \u2014 as what Russia has been able to build.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/menafn.com\/1101581839\/Can-Russian-combat-suit-stop-a-50-caliber-bullet\">MenaFN, all above quotes<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not to worry, the Army is developing their own exosuit:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">Called the Soldier Assistive Bionic Exosuit for Resupply, or SABER, the 3-pound suit \u2014 the product of a partnership between the Army and Vanderbilt University \u2014 is built with weight-bearing technology that relieves the burden of back strain and endurance among troops.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph-sc-1tqpf5s-0 kEzXdV body-paragraph body-paragraph\">The device works as a harness that can be strapped around a service member\u2019s arms and legs. When a soldier presses a button on the suit, the straps are activated to lessen the burden of lifting heavy objects, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/technology\/2022\/09\/10\/army-ironman-suit-soldier-back-pain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Post<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2022\/09\/12\/the-armys-new-exosuit-aims-to-reduce-back-injuries-among-soldiers\/?utm_source=sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=army-dnr\">Army Times<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Absent the hyperbole of the Russian claims, while we have been working on a glorified weight belt, Rostec has been working on something a wee bit more advanced.
