Small wonder Garland’s misnamed Department of Justice reacted like a vampire to holy water at the idea. They’re already down one. US District Judge Aileen Cannon has made public a more detailed inventory of items seized during the FBI\u2019s raid on Mar-a-Largo. What a list it is.<\/p>\n
Innocuous items as the former president\u2019s clothing, as well as magazine and newspaper clippings he kept.<\/p>\n
11,179 government documents and photographs seized that bear no classification markings.<\/p>\n
54 documents removed marked \u201cSECRET,\u201d 31 labeled \u201cCONFIDENTIAL\u201d and another 18 stamped \u201cTOP SECRET.\u201d<\/p>\n
Agents also took 48 empty folders labeled \u201cCLASSIFIED\u201d with another 42 empty folders labeled \u201cReturn to Staff Secretary\/Military Aide.\u201d <\/p>\n
It’s not clear why empty folders were taken. Fishing expedition? That part of the affidavit was redacted, Citizen.<\/p>\n
Now this. Federal prosecutors claimed an in-house review had already taken place and only a small subset of the documents had attorney-client or executive privilege. Further scrutiny was unnecessary. <\/p>\n
Judge Cannon disagreed.<\/p>\n

A federal judge ordered Monday that an independent special master be appointed to review the records seized by the FBI during its raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home and ordered the Justice Department stop its own review of the material for investigative purposes. <\/p>\n
U.S. District Judge from the Southern District of Florida Judge Aileen M. Cannon ordered that the special master be appointed to “review the seized property, manage assertions of privilege and make recommendations thereon, and evaluate claims for return of property.” <\/p>\n
“The Court hereby authorizes the appointment of a special master to review the seized property for personal items and documents and potentially privileged material subject to claims of attorney-client and\/or executive privilege,” the order states. <\/p>\n
Fox News first reported last month that FBI agents seized boxes containing records covered by attorney-client privilege and potentially executive privilege during the raid. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
