\nArizona authorities said Otto the K-9 helped them seize 50,000 fentanyl pills and other drugs they believe were slated to be trafficked for sale<\/em><\/p>\n

\nAn Arizona police K-9 helped officers seize thousands of fentanyl pills hidden in a car during a traffic stop, authorities said.<\/p>\n

The Cottonwood Police Department said officers were conducting operations on Wednesday when a driver with a cracked windshield was stopped. The dog, named Otto, was used to sniff out any drugs or other illegal substances.<\/p>\n

“A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a duffel bag in the back of the sedan,” the department said in a social media post. “The bag contained five large plastic bags of blue ‘M\/30’ pills.”<\/p>\n

Upon further investigation, the bag contained 50,000 fentanyl pills that weighed 12 pounds, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Also found was a “usable amount” of methamphetamine and other items indicating the drugs were being trafficked for sale, they said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nFayetteville police named the man shot and killed by police after he allegedly was “advancing on the officers” Friday evening.<\/p>\n

Justin Livesay, 40, died on the scene after being shot by multiple officers. Officials said he threatened to harm himself and was armed with two knives.<\/p>\n

Police were first called to the 600 block of Hickory View Court in a mobile home park between Bunce and Cliffdale roads at 7:39 p.m. on a report of an armed suicidal person, a news release said. The five officers on scene \u2014 one of whom Assistant Police Chief Kimberle Braden said was a sergeant \u2014 found Livesay behind one of the mobile homes. According to the release, the officers tried to convince him to drop the knives, but their attempts were unsuccessful and stun guns were deployed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
