Appleton police shoot, kill armed male during domestic disturbance response<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAPPLETON – Appleton police shot and killed an armed male while responding to a domestic disturbance call Friday night, the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation said Saturday.<\/p>\n

Police responded to the call at a residence on the 1500 block of N. Birchwood Avenue at about 7:22 p.m. Officers confronted a male who had a handgun and attempted negotiations with him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

SLED to investigate killing of armed suspect by police<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSLED has announced that it is investigating the shooting between at least one Eutawville police officer and the armed suspect.<\/p>\n

Late Thursday night, Tyler Mendez was killed during an exchange of gunfire with an officer from the Eutawville Police Department.<\/p>\n

A Eutawville police officer was responding to a call for service when the shooting took place. Mendez, 27, died at the scene, SLED said in a statement released to the press. No injuries were reported for any of the officers involved.<\/p>\n

SLED has reported that the incident was South Carolina\u2019s 23rd officer involved shooting this year. Last year the Eutawville Police Department recorded no officer involved shootings.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
