Police: Teen’s fatal shooting on Tapp Drive was self-defense after attempted robbery<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA homeowner shot and killed a teen during an attempted robbery on Indianapolis’ east side early Wednesday morning, police said.<\/p>\n

Two people were in a car in front of their home when multiple people approached the vehicle. At least one person in this group, including the deceased, had a gun, police said.<\/p>\n

The teen attempted to rob the people in the car, Sgt. Frank Wooten said. Wooten said officers believe the homeowner, who was detained and taken in for questioning, acted in self-defense.<\/p>\n

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers responded to the home in the 11900 block of Tapp Drive at about 4:20 a.m. on a report of a person shot. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA man was shot by police Tuesday night in southwest Detroit.<\/p>\n

Detroit Police Chief James White said officers were on \u201cproactive patrol\u201d when they identified a man known to them as a gang member about 9:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Annabelle Street.<\/p>\n

White said a chase ensued when officers attempted to stop the man, who jumped a fence before allegedly pulling out a handgun.<\/p>\n

A police officer shot the man three times in response, White said.<\/blockquote\n0 \/ 1 \/ 0\nYahoo News<\/a><\/p>\n
