Gastonia Police fatally shoot man, officer hit by vehicle<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nOfficers from the Gastonia Police Department shot and killed a man who had reportedly picked up someone else’s young children from a daycare.<\/p>\n

The shooting occurred around 12:53 p.m. Wednesday, although officers first became involved in the incident at 12:34 p.m., when a relative called 911 and reported that a man had taken children he knew, but was not authorized to pick up from daycare, according to police.<\/p>\n

Robert Hamlett, who lives in The Meadows apartment complex in the 400 block of North Edgemont, said his 21-year-old stepson, Jason Lipscomb, was fatally shot by police in the incident.<\/p>\n

Gastonia Police confirmed their officers shot a man, but they did not identify him. A police spokesperson said that information would come from the State Bureau of Investigation, which will investigate the fatal shooting.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Gainesville police are investigating a home invasion shooting that leaves one dead<\/strong><\/p>\n

GPD officers say that three people were shot.<\/p>\n

They responded to a home invasion a little before 7:00 am in northeast Gainesville.<\/p>\n

Officers performed life-saving rescue procedures before the three people were taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n

Melany Moris, who lives on the same street as the crime scene, told TV20, that hearing about crime in the area, surprised her.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s usually a lot of people over there on the weekends and on the holidays,\u201d said Morris. \u201cBut, you know, this is a kid-friendly, quiet neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moris remembers the neighborhood since her childhood and now worries about her family\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know I have you know two little children and an infant at the house,\u201d claimed Moris.<\/p>\n

Another woman across behind NE 16th terrace heard the screams just after 7 am.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
