SIMON KENT<\/strong><\/p>\n President Joe Biden issued a health warning Sunday, cautioning \u201ceverybody\u201d should be concerned about the cases of monkeypox now being detected both in the U.S. and in Europe.<\/p>\n The U.S. has vaccines ready to deploy that are \u201crelevant to treating monkeypox,\u201d a government national security adviser later further confirmed.<\/p>\n Biden spoke with reporters before departing Osan Air Base in South Korea for Japan, admitting his health advisers had not yet briefed him on the \u201clevel of exposure\u201d of the disease, however he was assured it would be \u201cconsequential.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey haven\u2019t told me the level of exposure yet, but it is something that everybody should be concerned about,\u201d Biden said, The Hill reports. \u201cWe\u2019re working on it hard to figure out what we do and what vaccine, if any, may be available for it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut it is a concern in the sense that if it were to spread, it\u2019s consequential. That\u2019s all they have told me,\u201d the president added.<\/p>\n Monkeypox is rarely identified outside of Africa, but as of Friday, there were 80 confirmed cases worldwide, including at least two in the United States<\/strong>, and another 50 suspected ones.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
