VIDEO: Man Tries Stealing Gun At Concealed-Carry Class, Gets Shot A Lot<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLas Vegas, NV \u2013 The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) released surveillance video that showed what happened after a man tried to steal a gun from a bag in a concealed-carry class at a gun range in February (video below).<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at about 12:50 p.m. on Feb. 3 at The Range 702 indoor shooting range located in the 6000-block of Dean Martin Drive near Russell Road, KVVU reported.<\/p>\n

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Captain Jamie Prosser said the suspect entered the gun range and started touching things that didn\u2019t belong to him.<\/p>\n

Security video from inside the range\u2019s classroom showed 27-year-old Marvon Payton Jr. entered the classroom during a break and sat down, KLAS reported.<\/p>\n

Then the video showed Payton started digging through another student\u2019s bag.<\/p>\n

The owner of the bag saw what was happening and intervened, according to LVMPD.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Suspect shot to death by police in Dreyfoos school incident was a Dreyfoos graduate<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe man who was shot to death by West Palm Beach police Friday after he crashed a van into the Dreyfoos School of the Arts theater has been identified as a Dreyfoos graduate who in 2007 received an award in recognition of his work with the school’s theater.<\/p>\n

Romen Phelps, 33, of Palm Beach Gardens, was identified Friday night as the driver of the van, who was shot dead in the theater when he “violently attacked” an off-duty city police officer who had responded to the scene, police said.<\/p>\n

Students were on campus at the time of the incident, which occurred about noon and caused a lockdown and panic among students and parents. Students were not in the main theater hall where the shooting happened, according to West Palm Beach police. Police said no students or faculty were injured during the incident.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
