New Jersey driver runs over victim who took pictures of his vehicle as he tried to get away from a crash site. (Union County Prosecutor’s Office)<\/b><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Vincent Jean, 56, got into an accident but tried to get away from the scene. However, the other driver, a 23-year-old woman, took pictures of him attempting to leave. Upon seeing that, Jean chased her with his vehicle, driving over a yard, and then ultimately ran over her twice. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Jean was arrested.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told police Jean and the victim had been involved in a minor car crash in the area.<\/p>\n

“After the accident, the male driver attempted to flee the scene and the victim, who was standing on the sidewalk, began taking photos of the suspect’s car in order to be able to identify him to the police,” prosecutors said.<\/p>\n

Jean then allegedly unleashed his attack.<\/p>\n

“The suspect drove onto the lawn and struck the victim,” officials continued, “then drove over her before backing up and deliberately running her over a second time.”<\/p>\n

The victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, Jean allegedly fled the scene, but was spotted hours later sitting inside the same, now-damaged vehicle.<\/p>\n

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Jean with: first-degree attempted murder; second-degree aggravated assault; third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; third-degree assault by auto; third-degree leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with serious bodily injury; third-degree endangering an injured victim and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
