Police dog finds $10.5 million worth of cocaine hidden in produce truck<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLAS VEGAS (KLAS) \u2013 A police dog working with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department alerted officers to $10.5 million worth of cocaine hidden in a truckload of produce, the department said Friday.<\/p>\n

Police initially stopped the truck for erratic driving at 2:30 a.m. on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nervous driver had a story that didn\u2019t add up,\u201d the department wrote in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n

Las Vegas Metro called in K9 Officer Nuggetz, who alerted officers to the presence of drugs. A search uncovered 230 pounds of narcotics in a \u201cload of tomatoes,\u201d police said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Police: Man killed in gunfire exchange with officers<\/strong><\/p>\n

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) \u2014 A central Kentucky man who exchanged gunfire with police has died, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Lexington police officers responded Sunday evening to a report of \u201can armed suicidal subject” at a home, according to a statement from the agency.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, the 43-year-old man stepped outside with a handgun and rifle and refused orders to drop the weapons, police said. He fired at officers, and five returned fire, striking him, the statement said. The man died at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA Margate officer shot and killed an 82-year-old man who pointed a gun at cops, police announced Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s shooting happened at 12:46 p.m. in the 100 block of Rock Island Road and Northwest First Street, according to Margate police.<\/p>\n

Police say they went to the area after receiving reports of a person pointing a gun at people. When officers arrived, they found Jose Antonio Suarez of Margate waving a gun around and shooting into the ground, police said in a Monday news release.<\/p>\n

The officers told Suarez several times to drop his gun, but he didn\u2019t, police said. Suarez pointed the gun at officers, and one of the officers shot him, according to the news release.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
