Texas bystanders trained in MMA take out man with gun in restaurant: ‘We fight for a living’<\/strong>
\nSuspect had fired one shot into the air near the bar area of the restaurant<\/em><\/p>\n

\nTwo bystanders who happened to be mixed martial arts fighters took down a man who fired a gun inside a RA Sushi in Houston, Texas, Monday night.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to a panic alarm at the restaurant around 11 p.m., FOX 26 Houston reports. Authorities also received additional calls about a shooting in progress.<\/p>\n

Houston police say when officers arrived, they found the suspect had already been taken into custody by customers at the restaurant.<\/p>\n

“Me and my buddy, we ran to the shooter, got him down, strangled him, took the gun from him and then called the police. Police came and got him,” Patrick Robinson said. “We fight for a living, so it was just quick instincts.”<\/p>\n

UFC star Kevin Holland, a 29-year-old welterweight, was one of the good Samaritans, TMZ reports.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sheriff: Officer-involved shooting began as a domestic violence call<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe incident that ended with an officer-involved shooting near Mount Shasta began as a domestic violence call and a man pointing a gun at his own head.<\/p>\n

Siskiyou County sheriff’s deputies and Mount Shasta police were called to the 2600 block of Sean Way, near Mount Shasta shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, according to sheriff’s officials.<\/p>\n

There had been a reported domestic violence incident at a home there, officers said.<\/p>\n

When law enforcement arrived, they found Darin E. Klep, 57, of Mount Shasta in the backyard of a home and holding a handgun to his head, officials said.<\/p>\n

Officers attempted to persuade Klep to put down the gun.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
