I don’t push my links on you folks very often, but Amazon just made it worth my (and your) while. I don’t know how many books ya’all read, but I read a ton a year. It was a main point of contention with my wife because I can’t seem to throw any away.\u00a0 I looked at Kindle 1 last year and thought it was a great idea – no more arguments over our shrinking home and all the books I can read delivered in seconds. But it was too expensive, so I figured I’d wait.

\nA year later, they brought out Kindle 2 and I figured they’d never drop the price so I bought it the first day it was available. It’s been the most useful thing I ever bought – books and newpapers delivered at the moment I get the urge – and no cluttered bookshelves. I’ve read more in the last few months than I ever read in my life. Waiting at the doctors’ office doesn’t bother me anymore since I always have a book to read because it’s so convenient to take everywhere. <\/p>\n
Amazon has over 300,000 book titles available for Kindles (I’ve never not found a book I was looking for) in addition to some newspapers and blogs. The newspapers are waiting for me in the Kindle when I get up in the morning – and there’s no little Chinese guy trying to throw the newspaper through my plate glass window every morning. <\/p>\n
The Kindle reads to you (with a choice of male or female voice), it has an MP3 player and limited websurfing on the free 3G network. <\/p>\n
Last night Amazon emailed me that they dropped the price $50, so it’s about $300 now. The first price drop in the history of the thing. Plus they bumped up what I’ll earn on it if you buy it from the link in my sidebar. If you’ve been thinking about buying one – now’s the time. And TAH is the place.<\/p>\n
