He was telling people, with phony documents, that he was a 20-year veteran of Naval Special Warfare where he had been a Navy SEAL officer. He claimed to have received the &#8220;Navy Cross Medal&#8221;, &#8220;Silver Star Medal&#8221;, and other awards. Of course, none of that was true. He was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=85616\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outed here<\/a> and at <a href=\"https:\/\/militaryphony.com\/2019\/03\/14\/arvil-gene-reed-us-navy-seal-lieutenant-navy-cross-silver-star-two-purple-hearts-blog-of-shame\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Military Phony<\/a> three years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Arvil&#8217;s making the news again. It will probably not surprise you that it&#8217;s not for his philanthropic efforts or for starting a charity for orphans in Ukraine. He allegedly struck a domestic partner with a firearm and threatened to kill her. He&#8217;s being charged with attempted murder (among other felony charges) in Hawaii.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bigislandnow.com\/2022\/03\/07\/california-man-accused-of-attempted-murder-in-hilo\/?fbclid=IwAR1uprOc8G4d7tKbwud9wvSV3Fb5VM5dHuioOQqskLGsndhlyQR8P-rBhf8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Island Now has the report;<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A California man was charged with attempted murder after an incident at a Hilo hotel on Friday, March 4, officials reported this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Hawaii Police Department\u2019s South Hilo Patrol responded to the domestic incident that took place at a hotel on Banyan Drive at 6 p.m. after a 45-year-old woman reported the suspect, identified as Arvil Reed, had struck her with a firearm and threatened to kill her while in their shared room.<\/p>\n<p>Arriving officers located Reed in front of the hotel and he was arrested without incident. The woman was treated at the scene by fire rescue but refused to be transported to the Hilo Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>Reed, 54, faces charges of second-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of ownership or possession of a firearm prohibited, carrying or use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony and kidnapping.<\/p>\n<p>Reed is scheduled to make his initial appearance today in Hilo District Court.
