18-year-old suspected of killing man at McDonald\u2019s is shot days later by Texas police<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAn 18-year-old Texas man shot and killed by police earlier this month is believed to have gunned down a father waiting in line at a McDonald\u2019s in Houston, police said.<\/p>\n

A man identified as Clifton Zeno was fatally shot inside of a McDonald\u2019s on the night of Feb. 23 in west Houston, McClatchy News previously reported. Zeno and a man were arguing over a spot in line when the suspect pulled out a gun, opened fire and ran out of the restaurant, witnesses told police.<\/p>\n

Days later, on March 2, investigators closed in on a suspect, 18-year-old Alberto Riascos, executive police Chief Matt Slinkard said at a news conference Monday, March 7.<\/p>\n

Riascos also had an open warrant in Harris County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Slinkard said.<\/p>\n

Officers found Riascos walking back to his apartment, which is near the McDonald\u2019s where Zeno was killed, and attempted to arrest him.<\/p>\n

However, the 18-year-old fired a handgun at an HPD sergeant, who fired back and killed him, according to Slinkard.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Police investigating North Austin motel shooting kill man in unrelated confrontation, APD says<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTwo police officers investigating a motel shooting in North Austin on Sunday traded gunfire with a man and killed him in an unrelated confrontation, police said.<\/p>\n

Austin Police Chief Joe Chacon, briefing reporters Sunday night, did not identify the man who was shot but confirmed that police recovered the man’s weapon.<\/p>\n

Chacon also did not identify the officers involved in the shooting, saying only that one of the officers was a rookie and the other was veteran who was training him.<\/p>\n

Police initially responded at 2:55 p.m. to a shooting at a Motel 6 on the southbound service road of Interstate 35 North, in the 7100 block near the intersection with East St. Johns Avenue.<\/p>\n

The victim in that shooting had critical injuries but was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition Sunday night, the police chief said.<\/p>\n

“That shooting is not related to our officer-involved shooting,” he said, “that’s simply the call that (police) found themselves here on.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Peoria police shoot, kill man near Liberty High School<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nPeoria police shot and killed a man near Liberty High School on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to a domestic-violence call around 8:30 p.m. near Lake Pleasant and Beardsley roads, and when they arrived they saw a man get in a vehicle and speed off. <\/p>\n

Police determined the man had damaged items in the home and was arguing with the woman before leaving, police said in a statement on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Another officer saw the vehicle and thought the driver may have been impaired, so the officer tried to stop the vehicle but the man hit a curb and kept driving, according to police.<\/p>\n

Officers found the vehicle stopped with a flat tire near Williams Road and 95th Avenue and surrounded the vehicle.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
