A rabbit, a turtle and a snail walk into a bar…<\/p>\n

… you can finish that one.<\/p>\n

The National Personnel Records Center just announced it will resume full operations starting Monday March 7th, 2022:<\/p>\n

Although this is great news, it is anyone’s guess what will happen to the million or so FOIA requests on backlog.\u00a0 We alone account for at least several hundred of them, if not more.<\/p>\n

If I were a guessing man, my money is on they will have meetings about the backlog and decide what to do.\u00a0 We could never get an answer if we needed to refile if they were going to start with a clean slate, or work them in the order received from two years ago, etc.<\/p>\n

Then again, the ol’ mailbox may be stuffed to the gills starting tomorrow.<\/p>\n

It may be a good idea for the NPRC to bring on additional staff, temps or reservists and address the backlog, but that’s just me.<\/p>\n

So, after the meetings – who will walk out of the bar?\u00a0 The rabbit, the turtle or the snail?<\/p>\n

My answer – It depends on if the bar has a “Boom Boom” Room.<\/p>\n
