Homeowner shoots, kills armed intruder in Northland, Kansas City police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA man was shot and killed Sunday morning after breaking into a residence in the Northland, Kansas City police said.<\/p>\n

Officers with the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance in the 3800 block of Northwest Barry Road around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. While arriving, they were told there was a shooting nearby in the 3800 block of Northwest 85th Terrace.<\/p>\n

At the scene of the shooting, officers made contact with the resident of the home, who said an armed intruder had broken in, said Capt. Leslie Foreman, a spokeswoman for the department.<\/p>\n

The resident of the apartment complex said he shot the intruder, who police said was declared dead at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Deputies shoot, injure man accused of threatening behavior<\/strong><\/p>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Authorities said two deputies shot and injured a man in Grand Forks Sunday who walked toward them cwith a gun in his hand and refused commands to drop the weapon.<\/p>\n

The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Department said deputies were responding to another report shortly before 11:30 a.m. when dispatchers received a call about a man breaking into a house. Deputies arrived within minutes and were told by the homeowner that the suspect was standing by her vehicle with a gun, according to the sheriff’s release.<\/p>\n

The release said deputies shot the man after he continued to ignore their orders.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
