{"id":123012,"date":"2022-02-19T11:11:43","date_gmt":"2022-02-19T16:11:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=123012"},"modified":"2022-02-19T11:11:43","modified_gmt":"2022-02-19T16:11:43","slug":"stupid-people-of-the-week-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=123012","title":{"rendered":"Stupid people of the week"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Officers in Coral Springs didn\u2019t find influencer\u2019s \u2018Coke\u2019 prank funny<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Jason Cid filmed a prank and shared it with his two million followers on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old influencer called 911 to report \u201cCoke.\u201d With limited resources, Coral Springs Chief Clyde Parry didn\u2019t find Cid\u2019s prank funny.<\/p>\n<p>Dispatch: \u201cWhat is your emergency?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cid: \u201cHello, I am calling because I see weird suspicious activity at a gas station.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived at the Mobil gas station in search of cocaine, they found the red soda cans instead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy officers were polite and professional,\u201d Parry said.<\/p>\n<p>Seven real emergency calls were delayed because of the prank, according to Parry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile these officers were tied up on a made-up call, they were unavailable to respond to vehicle accidents, EMT calls, like heart attacks and other real emergencies,\u201d Parry said. \u201cI am personally offended by the waste of our resources.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cid was arrested a week later for the misuse of the 911 system. I pay your salary,&#8217;\u201d Biden recalled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I went over. I picked it up. She said, \u2018I want it out of my front yard,\u2019 I put it on her doorstep,\u201d Biden said with a grin as the crowd laughed.<\/p>\n<p>Biden used the story to highlight how important local government officials were to addressing immediate problems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI ran for the Senate because it was too hard being on the council,\u201d Biden said with a chuckle.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sounds about right. My 11-year-old niece is better at following public health directives than most adults I know.<\/p>\n<p>About 10 months ago, when we picked up our new puppy in Carlsbad, a far more politically conservative area than Venice, the maskless man of the house looked at my niece and said: \u201cCan I ask you a question? Why are you wearing that mask?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like to,\u201d she replied. \u201cIt makes me feel safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What could he say? Take it off, I don\u2019t want you to feel safe?<\/p>\n<p>He just shrugged.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, when public health officials advised that cloth masks were not as effective in reducing the transmission of the Omicron variant, my niece switched from her beloved fabric masks, which were a pain to keep clean, to disposable paper ones. With zero complaint.<\/p>\n<p>I think about this when I see posts on social media that are variations on the same whiny theme: Few football fans appeared to be wearing masks at the Super Bowl on Sunday \u2014 clips of various unmasked celebrities are making the rounds \u2014 but children all over Los Angeles will be forced to wear masks when they return to school on Monday. How unconscionable!<\/p>\n<p>Oh, please.<\/p>\n<p>Kids, as my colleague Karin Klein wrote last year, have adapted. It\u2019s the grown-ups who stomp their feet and act like petulant tykes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yes, kids are much more susceptible to brainwashing and indoctrination. Source; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/news\/4691647\/cynthia-perkins-sentenced-husband-dennis-sperm-cupcakes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The U.S. Sun<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Former Tipp City Assistant Police Chief convicted of OVI, weapons charge<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>The former Tipp City [Ohio] Assistant Police Chief, who was arrested after nearly hitting two police officers while intoxicated, changed her plea Thursday to get a felony charge against her dropped.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Slepicka, 43, of Union, pleaded guilty to OVI and weapon under the influence and in return a felony firearms charge she was facing was dropped, according to court records.<\/p>\n<p>Slepicka was nearly involved in two crashes with police officers while she drove the wrong way prior to being arrested on suspicion of OVI in late December, Troy Police records show.<\/p>\n<p>She resigned from her Tipp City police position in late December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was remorseful for the events that transpired, and she showed professionalism for the community and department in her decision to resign,\u201d said Tipp City Police Chief Greg Adkins.<\/p>\n<p>Body camera footage of her arrest was released by Troy Police following a public records request from News Center 7.<\/p>\n<p>Slepicka was first spotted driving the wrong way on West Market Street in Troy around 12:40 a.m. Dec. 22 by a West Milton officer who was returning to West Milton, according to a Troy police report. That officer flagged down a Troy officer to tell him about what happened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vehicle did not use an evasive maneuver,\u201d the West Milton officer told Troy Police. \u201cTo avoid the truck I had to hard brake and swerve right toward the ditch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Slepicka was arrested after a Troy officer found her driving on the wrong side of the road a short time later, a Troy police report read.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Dodge Ram continued straight toward me as I activated my overhead lights,\u201d Troy police wrote in their report. \u201cThe Dodge Ram swerved to my left to avoid hitting me and continued eastbound on the wrong side of the road.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Slepicka told the Troy officer who stopped her that she had a couple drinks. The officer said he smelled alcohol coming from Slepicka as she got out of the truck.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile speaking with the female I observed her speech to be slurred, her eyes were glassy, she had delayed responses to questions, and was not making sense with some answers,\u201d the report read. \u201cThe female appeared to be using the truck to help her balance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Slepicka\u2019s felony weapons charge of improperly handling a gun in her truck was filed after officers found a loaded handgun in her purse.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, Slepicka declined to do any field sobriety tests.
