\nPolice: West Palm Beach couple shoots, kills home intruder<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nWEST PALM BEACH \u2014 A man who broke into a home, startling a couple from their sleep early Saturday, was shot by one of the residents and died later at the hospital, city police said.<\/p>\n

West Palm Beach police went to a house in the 500 block of Avon Road in response to a 911 call about a shooting at 4:16 a.m. Saturday. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside, police said Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Police believe the man, possibly in his late 30s to early 40s, broke into the home through a window and turned on the bedroom light, waking the pair, a 44-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman. Their names were withheld by police because of the Marsy’s Law privacy restriction.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Concord police officer shoots, kills car thief suspect following an altercation<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA Concord police officer shot and killed a car thief suspect early Sunday following a physical confrontation, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Around 5 a.m., an officer on routine patrol discovered a man attempting to steal a car at the Modern Nissan dealership at 967 Concord Parkway S., according to a news release from the Concord Police Department.<\/p>\n

The officer told the suspect multiple times to stop what he was doing, but the suspect refused, police said. The two then got into a physical confrontation, according to police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Armed man shot by Leavenworth police is hospitalized with critical injuries, KBI says<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAn investigation is underway after police shot and injured an armed man early Sunday morning in Leavenworth, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.<\/p>\n

The shooting occurred as police were looking for a suspect in a stabbing investigation in Lansing, Chief Patrick Kitchens said in a news release.<\/p>\n

Officers found the suspect, who they said was armed with a handgun, in the middle of the intersection of North 5th and Seneca streets at about 5 a.m. A brief standoff followed, Kitchens said.<\/p>\n

Officers from other departments arrived and tried to negotiate with the man, later identified by the KBI as Donald Barden Jr., 31, of Leavenworth. Officers tried to get him to drop his weapon, but he ignored their commands, the KBI said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Texas man charged in fatal shooting of driver who turned around in his driveway<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA Texas man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a driver who authorities believe was using his driveway to turn his car around.<\/p>\n

Terry Turner, 65, was indicted on a first-degree murder charge Wednesday in the death of Adil Dghoughi, 31, outside his home in Martindale, about 50 miles from Austin, Caldwell County District Attorney Fred Weber said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is our belief that [Dghoughi] was trying to get to his girlfriend\u2019s residence, and he went to the wrong house,\u201d Weber said.<\/p>\n

Turner told authorities he woke up on Oct. 11 and saw a strange car parked in the driveway of his house, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Turner claimed that he grabbed his gun and chased the car as it was backing out of the driveway. But when the driver pulled a gun on him, he fired a single shot into the car.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors, however, said a gun was not found in Dghoughi\u2019s car.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
