Whoopi Goldberg<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Unless you’ve been living in a cave or turning off all media input – things are heating up over the Whoopi Goldberg fiasco.<\/p>\n

She claimed on her show “The View” that the Holocaust was not about race and it was a White on White thing – man’s inhumanity to other men.<\/p>\n

Steve Colbert of “The Colbert Report” got involved that evening and gave her a softball interview allowing Goldberg to “clarify” her comments but she seemed to double-down<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Many have pointed out and accused her of accosting a Jewish name since her original name was Caryn Elaine Johnson.<\/p>\n

The Jewish Anti-Defamation League got involved as well as some people in her network (ABC) and put pressure on the network (ABC) to do something.\u00a0 They suspended her for two weeks asking that she think and reflect on what she said.<\/p>\n

Goldberg is threatening to quit over being chastised.\u00a0 Several of her co-hosts on “The View” are characterized as being furious over her suspension.\u00a0 Not furious enough to quit in solidarity, but some degree of furious.<\/p>\n

Now, Don Lemon of CNN is weighing in.\u00a0 Lemon, not exactly a beaming example of moral integrity, has defended Goldberg.\u00a0 On air, Lemon has lumped Trump voters in with as Klansmen and Nazis – a technique that many feel is beneath an individual that portrays himself as a strict newsperson.\u00a0 I think somewhere along the way Lemon morphed into a political pundit, which is fine, but still tries to wear the cloak of a hard newsman.<\/p>\n

So, Lemon is now defending Goldberg<\/a> and that’s his right but here is what I find interesting… no wait… what I find FASCINATING:<\/p>\n

Jeff Zucker left CNN recently over not disclosing a relationship with someone on his staff. Many feel there is more to reveal. Point is, Zucker was providing top cover for many of the anchors on CNN. Lemon may have cut away his main chute on this one when Zucker is not there to have his back.\u00a0 I suspect Lemon is not reading the tea leaves properly.<\/p>\n

I’ll say upfront that I’m not for cancel culture<\/strong>, but I can also see where this is coming back to bite the left.\u00a0 Wasn’t it Goldberg that stormed off the set when Bill O’Reilly was on “The View” and made a factual statement that the 9\/11 hijackers were Muslim?<\/p>\n

So, this all brings up an interesting question – do the rules only apply to those on the right?\u00a0 \u00a0Do the people with left-leaning views have insurance against saying anything questionable?\u00a0 Will Whoopi get a pass?\u00a0 Will she be able to come back and spin and mold her comments – feeling sorry for people not understanding what she meant?<\/p>\n

I’ve always said that the groups (Christians, military troops, police, etc) and objects (statues, flags, pronouns, etc) that get attacked the most can’t or won’t fight back.\u00a0 The ones that do – Jewish Anti-Defamation League, CAIR, etc – show that people will fold like a cheap lawn chair when called on their comments.<\/p>\n

Should have stuck with statues and pronouns. *sigh*<\/p>\n
