The suspect entered the bank intending to withdraw a lot of money but only succeeded in obtaining a lot of criminal charges.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Maryland woman facing various fraud charges after visit to Stafford bank<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

A Maryland woman who entered a Stafford County bank Tuesday looking to make a large withdrawal left facing multiple charges, police said.<\/p>\n

Sgt. A.I. Assur and Deputy T.K. Phillips went to the Bank of America at 1525 Stafford Market Place at 2:15 p.m. for a report of a suspicious person. Bank employees had been warned about a woman using a fictitious name at other branches and recognized the name when a woman tried to withdraw $2,500, Stafford Sheriff\u2019s Maj. Shawn Kimmitz said.<\/p>\n

As the deputies spoke with her, the woman rattled off fictitious identifying information, Kimmitz said. She eventually identified herself as 56-year-old Kelly Burch of Greenbelt, Md.<\/p>\n

Burch was charged with possessing a fake license, possession of a fake armed forces identification card, procuring credit through a false statement, two counts of identity theft, credit card larceny, credit card fraud, false identification to law enforcement, forgery and passing a forged document.<\/p>\n

She was placed in the Rappahannock Regional Jail.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

By the way, her first name is sometimes spelled ‘Kelly’ but more often spelled ‘Kelley.’\u00a0 Also, she just had a birthday so is now 57.<\/p>\n

An exhaustive search of DoD Manpower Data Center (SCRA) showed no military active duty service but that database is not 100% reliable, although pretty good.\u00a0 It does not show active reserve status unless the individual was recalled to active duty.<\/p>\n

However, a check on Burch’s criminal records show many charges for forgery (guilty), theft, issuing false statements, issuing counterfeit order, obtaining goods\/money by forgery, issuing false documents, assault, drug charges, grand larceny, trespassing, fugitive, false statement to peace officer, etc.\u00a0 These charges were *before* the most recent incident at the bank.<\/p>\n

Burch may get charged for fraud, but it remains to be seen what happens in regard to the false armed forces ID card.<\/p>\n
