GBI: Armed robbery suspect pointed gun at Savannah officers before being shot<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting between the Savannah Police Department and an individual involved in an armed robbery.<\/p>\n

According to the Savannah Police Department, around 7 p.m. on Monday officers were called to an armed robbery in progress at the Beauty & Beyond in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.<\/p>\n

According to a news release from the GBI, officers approached 31-year-old Kevin Dubois, of Savannah, who was holding a handgun. Officers reportedly gave Dubois verbal commands to drop the gun, but he did not.<\/p>\n

The GBI said that Dubois ran, and officers chased him. During the chase, Dubois reportedly pointed his handgun at officers and was then shot by two officers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Louisiana State police: local cops kill man shooting at them<\/strong><\/p>\n

Local officers in southwest Louisiana shot and killed a man who was shooting at them early Tuesday, Louisiana State Police said.<\/p>\n

Lake Charles police were responding to a pair of late-Monday shootings when 22-year-old Christopher Thomas of Lake Charles fired at them about 3 a.m. Tuesday, Trooper Derek Senegal said in a news release.<\/p>\n

He had shot several times into a house about 9:45 p.m. Monday and run away. Thomas then returned, firing more bullets, one of which hit an occupant in the foot, Senegal said.<\/p>\n

Officers found him about 3 a.m. Tuesday in a house about a mile from the first. When they told him to surrender, he shot at them. During negotiations, he walked out the front door wearing body armor and carrying a handgun, went back inside, then fired at the officers from the front door, according to state police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
