He was forced to resign after admitting a few days ago that he&#8217;d cooperated with Poland&#8217;s communist-era secret police. I&#8217;m sure we can find some Leftists around somewhere that will sympathize with him and explain away his traitorous behavior using the awesome power\u00c2\u00a0of hindsight the Left seems to treasure.<\/p>\n<p>Afterall, look how the Left still defends Alger Hiss. Despite the fact that Hiss has been proven guilty of treason using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsa.gov\/venona\/\" target=\"_blank\">VENONA Project files<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0(made famous by the scholarly work <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Venona-Decoding-Soviet-Espionage-America\/dp\/0300084625\" target=\"_blank\">Venona; Decoding Soviet Spies in America<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0) and the KGB&#8217;s own archives (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Haunted-Wood-Espionage-America-Paperbacks\/dp\/0375755365\/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_k2a_3_txt\/102-8453225-5535313\">The Haunted Wood; Soviet Espionage in America &#8211; the Stalin Era<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0by Allen Weinstein), they still defend him and fend off charges that he was a traitor by sniffing that he was only found guilty of perjury &#8211; not espionage.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, the good archbishop should see if he can get a job as Archbishop of Berkely or Cambridge.
