Officer wounded, suspect killed in Oklahoma shooting<\/strong><\/p>\n

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) \u2014 A Broken Arrow police officer was wounded early Saturday and the suspected gunman was killed in a shooting in northeastern Oklahoma, police said.<\/p>\n

The shooting began after a traffic stop about 2:40 a.m. in the Tulsa suburb, according to Broken Arrow Officer Chris Walker.<\/p>\n

Two people fled the vehicle during the initial stop and the man then drove away, leading Officer Caleb Sherman on a short pursuit before stopping, Walker said.<\/p>\n

As Sherman approached the vehicle the man opened fire, Sherman returned fire and the man then fled into a nearby wooded area, Walker said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man shot to death while attempting to rob 77-year-old man on South Side<\/strong><\/p>\n

CHICAGO \u2014 A man was shot to death Saturday afternoon while attempting to rob a 77-year-old man in the city\u2019s Chatham community area, according to police.<\/p>\n

Police said the 77-year-old man was in an open garage of a residence in the 500 block of East 89th Street at approximately 12:22 p.m. when an unknown vehicle in the alley pulled up and a man inside exited the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Shortly after exiting the vehicle, the man revealed a firearm and demanded the 77-year-old man\u2019s property. The 77-year-old man then revealed a firearm and fired shots, striking the man in the head and chest.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A Florida man was arrested Tuesday after firing nearly a dozen gunshots at a deputy during a traffic stop over the weekend and fleeing in a stolen car, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Ma’at Lee, 20, of Tampa, was identified as the suspect who fired eight gunshots toward Hillsborough County Deputy Geovanny Rodriguez after he was pulled over on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle just before 5 a.m. Sunday, the sheriff\u2019s office said in a news release.<\/p>\n

Lee\u2019s gunfire struck the deputy\u2019s patrol vehicle multiple times, authorities said. The sheriff\u2019s office shared photos of the patrol vehicle\u2019s bullet-riddled windshield.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez, 29, was not injured during the incident and was able to return fire as the suspect fled. The suspect\u2019s vehicle, a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee that deputies say was stolen days earlier, was recovered nearby the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
